Raising My Twins in Faith: Why Jesus is at the Centre of Our Home

When I became a mum – twice over at once! I knew straight away that one of the most important gifts I could give my daughters was a strong foundation in faith.

I was brought up in a religious home, attended religious schools, and was always taught the value of prayer, worship, and living a life that reflects God’s love. It’s only natural that I’ve chosen to do the same for my girls – raising them to know Jesus, to love Him, and to walk in His light.

We don’t always get it perfect, life gets busy, especially as a single mum raising twins! But faith is a constant in our lives. We go to church when we can, we read the Bible together, and we pray daily. Worship music plays in the background as we go about our day (we love Premier Praise Radio!), and I make space to talk about God in ways they can understand.

My girls know that prayer isn’t just something we do at bedtime, it’s a way to talk to God anytime, anywhere. It’s how we give thanks, how we ask for guidance, and how we stay close to Him.

More than anything, I want them to know that being a Christian isn’t just about going to church or knowing Bible verses. It’s about how we livehow we treat others, and how we reflect Jesus in our everyday lives.

In our home, we try to live the way Jesus would want us to live – with kindness, honesty, love, and forgiveness. That means sharing, being patient, helping others, and learning from our mistakes. I don’t have all the answers, and I’m still learning too, but I trust that God is guiding us.

Motherhood has deepened my faith more than I could have imagined. It’s made me lean on God in ways I didn’t know I needed to, and it’s taught me that the greatest legacy I can leave my children is not money or achievements – but a heart that loves and trusts the Lord.

As we journey through the ups and downs of life, school, adventures and twin whirlwinds, our anchor remains the same: Jesus. 🤍
