The twelfth month of the year. The one that promises a twist of festive magic – a time for reflection, gratitude, and gentle preparation for another year waiting to unfold . Like most months in 2025, December was another busy one. Weekends were filled with lovely moments and memories in the making. I’m endlessly grateful for the life God has blessed us with, and for the blessings still to come.
We started the month strong with a jam-packed weekend, beginning with a mini celebration for my dad’s birthday, followed by a trip to Waddesdon Manor for the annual light show and Christmas market on the Saturday (which I’ve blogged about). Sunday brought a family skiing lesson – we always opt for private sessions, focusing on technique so we’re slope-ready for 2026. We’re so lucky to have such a fantastic instructor who has returned for another season, and even more grateful that we managed to secure sessions with him again. He’s wonderful with all of us, and I truly can’t wait to hit the slopes with the girls next year.

The following weekend saw our annual Christmas trip into London. We enjoyed a visit to Harrods for the Jellycat Airlines experience and, of course, a wander through Covent Garden to see the tree and mooch around. Naturally, the girls had to stop by Brandy Melville, picking up a few extra cute pieces. We finished the weekend with some much-needed downtime and cinnamon rolls – all in all, another successful one.

The last couple of weeks at school were fun-packed, with the girls spending time with friends, collecting awards at the celebration ceremony, being star children of the week, and bringing home glowing reports. The build-up to the big day included Wagamama’s visits, time spent with my mum, a quick trip to Bicester Village and our annual evening drive with vegan Magnums, Christmas music playing as we spotted houses filled with festive light displays. All just in time to head home for picky bits and a film.

Christmas Day itself was perfect — slow, calm, yet full of excitement as the girls opened their presents. They always keep very modest lists, so they usually receive around 90% of what they ask for, depending on availability. We started the day with vegan bacon rolls before heading to my mum’s for a vegan feast and F&M crackers.
The final few days of December were spent in a beautifully relaxed state, embracing the slower pace. New Year’s Eve was much the same — while the girls were on FaceTime with their group of friends, I watched the final episodes of Stranger Things, which I’m still not over, and found myself completely absorbed in TikTok conspiracy theories.
It truly was a fulfilling month, one I’m deeply grateful for. I count my blessings for everything God has provided us with.
