A New Adventure for Raising Twins

I have some exciting news to share with you all, and if I’m honest, it’s been a long time coming.

This opportunity first came my way towards the end of last year. But as so often happens, life had other ideas. Between caring for our two elderly cats, who have sadly since passed away, juggling work, family life and all the chaos that comes with being a full-time working mum to twin tweens, I just didn’t have the time or headspace to explore it properly.

And I don’t do things by halves.

If you’ve been reading Raising Twins for a while, you’ll know that I’m a researcher at heart. I ask questions. I dig into the details. I can be a little sceptical, and I won’t commit to something unless I’m completely comfortable with it. So when I finally carved out some time in May, I did exactly that. I researched, explored every angle, asked all the questions and yes, even used AI to help me cross the t’s and dot the i’s.

The lovely ladies who introduced me to this opportunity have been wonderfully patient while I took my time. And now, I’m genuinely thrilled to say that I’ve taken the leap.

I’ve become an Independent Travel Agent and honestly, it feels like such a natural extension of Raising Twins and everything I’ve always loved about travel, family and creating memories together.

Now, if you’d told me a year ago that I’d be writing those words, I’d probably have laughed. Because initially, I thought this would simply help me organise our own family adventures. But once I got behind the scenes and saw what was possible, I realised this was about so much more.

It’s about flexibility.

It’s about creating something of my own.

It’s about building extra opportunities for myself and my children, alongside a career that I already love.

It’s about saying yes to dreams and bringing them into our reality.

And I want to be really clear about that, I’m not leaving my full-time job. I genuinely love what I do and the company I work for. This isn’t about replacing anything. It’s about adding something exciting alongside Raising Twins and creating even more experiences, adventures and possibilities for our family.

Travel has always been woven into the fabric of this blog. From family breaks and city escapes to honest reviews and sharing the highs of travelling with twins, it’s something I truly love. So being able to book our own travel, discover new destinations and share even more of those experiences with you feels like such a natural next step.

Most of all, though, I love that this opportunity can fit around real life.

The school runs.

The hobbies.

The housework.

The full-time job.

The moments when life feels beautifully chaotic.

Because if there’s one thing Raising Twins has always been about, it’s showing that mums don’t have to choose just one version of themselves. We can be parents, professionals, dreamers and adventurers all at once.

And if you love travel too – whether you’re dreaming about your next family holiday, looking for honest travel inspiration, or simply curious about this opportunity I’ve been so excited to share – I’d love to bring you along for the journey.

I’ve created Travel by Kat, a place where I’ll be sharing travel inspiration, exclusive updates and more about this exciting new chapter.
