Another month has whizzed by, and somehow we’re already in August! July was another fun-packed month for us as a family, filled with celebrations, milestones and plenty of lovely memories.
The girls started the month with birthday celebrations for one of their friends, followed by a sleepover at ours with another friend. We were all counting down to the summer holidays too. School reports came in, and both girls are doing so well. I’m always beyond proud of them and everything they achieve. They also enjoyed a fun day at a theme park, arranged by the school, which I thought was such a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term. Year 7 has been absolutely brilliant for them.
For me, the beginning of the month was very much about getting focused on improving my health. I’ve been in a really good place, but every now and again, with so much resting on my shoulders, life can begin to feel overwhelming.
My coaching sessions have been going so well. However, at the end of the month, I found out that my therapist was being made redundant, which was incredibly sad. I’m not entirely sure where I stand until I speak to someone in a couple of weeks, but it probably means I won’t be continuing with the sessions for the foreseeable future. That’s okay, as we’ve made some incredible progress over the past few months. It’s simply an area of my personal development that I’ll need to evaluate as I move forward.
I’ve also been working hard behind the scenes on my travel business, which I am absolutely loving! It has been wonderful learning new things, posting on my new social media accounts and spending so much time thinking about all things travel. I’ve even got my first event to look forward to in the autumn, and I genuinely cannot wait.
July also marked one year since I started this blog. Although I previously blogged between 2014 and 2018, this space feels so much more like me. It reflects my true passions, my voice and my essence, and I’m so proud of everything it has become over the past year.
This month, I also made a conscious effort to create some time for myself. It’s all very well pouring energy into passion projects, work, my family and our home, but that energy has to come from somewhere. I was beginning to feel burnt out and knew I needed a quick reset, so I booked myself a spa day. I already had lunch plans arranged with a wonderful friend, so I thought, why not turn the whole weekend into a weekend just for me? And that’s exactly what I did.
On Friday, I headed straight from work to the twilight spa at Aqua Sana. On Saturday, I enjoyed lunch with my beautiful friend, which was exactly what we both needed, followed by a stunning stroll around a local National Trust property. Sunday was spent doing all the usual pampering and getting myself ready for the final week of school. It really was the rest and reset I desperately needed.

We ended the academic year by celebrating the girls’ successes with our usual Starbucks treat, followed by a beautiful dinner at The Giggling Squid. We also enjoyed watching the England games and, of course, the World Cup final.
On the first day of the holidays, I took the girls to Chessington World of Adventures. We had such a lovely day, and the weather was fabulous. A few of the rides were closed, though, and one even broke down while we were on it, which certainly made the day a little more eventful!

The girls have also spent lots of time meeting up with their friends this month, which has been lovely, while I’ve continued working.
I took the first weekend of August off, and we headed to Milton Keynes on the Friday. I’ll be sharing more about the whole weekend on the blog over the coming days.
Another wonderful month, filled with memories made and treasured. I’m now looking forward to another happy and blessed month ahead in August.
